Uses of n-Propyltrimethoxysilane: this chemical is an important material in sol-gel production. It may provide a hydrophobic surface treatment for inorganic powders or filler materials. And it is one of the catalyst components for polyolefin production with Ziegler-Natta catalysts. Additionally, it can react with Naphthalene-2,3-diol to get C23H19O4Si(1-)*K(1+).



This reaction needs KOEt and Ethanol by heating. The yield is 94 %.
