1.Tarasan (113-59-7) Indication: For treatment of psychotic disorders (e.g. schizophrenia) and of acute mania occuring as part of bipolar disorders.
2.Mechanism Of Action: Tarasan blocks postsynaptic mesolimbic dopaminergic D1 and D2 receptors in the brain; depresses the release of hypothalamic and hypophyseal hormones and is believed to depress the reticular activating system thus affecting basal metabolism, body temperature, wakefulness, vasomotor tone, and emesis.
3.Drug Interactions: Donepezil Possible antagonism of action
Galantamine Possible antagonism of action
Guanethidine The agent decreases the effect of guanethidine
Rivastigmine Possible antagonism of action
4.Food Interactions: Take with food to reduce irritation.
Avoid alcohol.
