Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by chloro-dimethyl-silane and 3,3,3-trifluoro-propene. This reaction will need reagent H₂PtCl₆.

Uses of Chlorodimethyl-3,3,3-trifluoropropylsilane: it can be used to produce 3,3,3-Trifluoropropyldimethylsilanol. This reaction will need reagent H₂O, (NH₄)₂CO₃, NaCl and solvent diethyl ether. The yield is about 98%.
