The 3,4-Dichlorobenzoylacetonitrile, with the CAS registry number 4640-68-0, is also known as Acetonitrile, (3,4-dichlorobenzoyl)-(7Cl,8Cl). This chemical's molecular formula is C9H5Cl2NO and molecular weight is 214.05. What's more, both its IUPAC name and systematic name are the same which is called 3-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)-3-oxopropanenitrile. And its melting point is 114 °C.
Uses of 3,4-Dichlorobenzoylacetonitrile: it is used to produce other chemicals. For example, it is used to produce (2-Amino-thiophen-3-yl)-(3,4-dichloro-phenyl)-methanone.
This reaction will occur at temperature of 50 °C for 4 hours with reagent Et2NH. And the yield is 70 %.
