The IUPAC name of this product is 1,3-dihydroimidazol-2-one . With the CAS registry number 5918-93-4, it is also named as 1,3-Dihydro-2H-imidazol-2-one ; 2-Hydroxyimidazole ; 4-Imidazolin-2-one ; 5-24-01-00299 (Beilstein Handbook Reference) ; AI3-27439 ; BRN 0105774 ; ENT-27439 ; NSC 111046 ; SD 8591 ; Shell SD-8591 ; 2H-Imidazol-2-one, 1,3-dihydro- (9CI) . The classification codes are agricultural chemical, insecticide and mutation data. 1,3-Dihydroimidazol-2-one can be obtained by many different methods. The  reactant may be 2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid , or (2,2-diethoxy-ethyl)-urea , or 1-benzyloxy-1,3-dihydro-imidazol-2-one . 

1,3-Dihydroimidazol-2-one also can react with many subtance to get some product. Such as: 1,3-Dihydroimidazol-2-one reacts with 2,3-dibromo-6,7-dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]azepin-8-one to get 2,3-dibromo-4-(2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazol-4-yl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]azepin-8-one ; 1,3-dihydro-imidazol-2-one reacts with benzoyl chloride to get 4-benzoyl-1,3-dihydro-imidazol-2-one ;  1,3-dihydro-imidazol-2-one reacts with furan-2-carbonyl chloride to get 4-(furan-2-carbonyl)-1,3-dihydro-imidazol-2-one ; 1,3-dihydro-imidazol-2-one reacts with thiophene-2-carbonyl chloride to get 4-(thiophene-2-carbonyl)-1,3-dihydro-imidazol-2-one .
