The C.I. Acid Violet 68, with the cas registry number 61724-46-7, has other names as Youhaoneuter Corinth BL. Its products categories are including dye, acid dye and neutral dye.

This is a kind of purple to atropurpureus powder. When in concentrated sulfuric acid, the color is amaranth and turns into purple after diluting; When in concentrated nitric acid, the color is also amaranth and then have the appearance of sediments after diluting; When in concentrated hydrochloric acid, it has no change, and then have the color of glow blue after diluting and then have sediments; When in concentrated sodium hydroxide, the color has no change and then turns into purple after diluting.

The production method of this chemical: Firstly, prepare the material of 2-aminophenol-4-sulfonamide and 2-naphthol; Secondly, diazotize the 2-aminophenol-4-sulfonamide and then couple with 2-naphthol, and then complex with sodium chromium salicyloate; Lastly, go through the process of filtering and drying to get the products.

As to its usage, it is widely applied in many ways. It could be used in dyeing of wool, silk, nylon and vinylon in neutral or faintly acid dye bath, and also in the direct printing of wool, silk and nylon fabrics. When used in dyeing of wool and other fabric in the same dye bath, nylon get the darker color while the silk gets much lighter, and secondary acetate, cotton and viscose acetal fibre slightly get some color. Besides,this chemical is used in coloring of leather.
