Uses of 1-Aminopyridinium iodide: It can react with dithiopropionic acid methyl ester to produce pyridinium 1-[(ethyl)thiocarbonyl]aminide. This reaction will need reagent NaOEt, and the menstruum ethanol. The reaction time is 1 day with ambient temperature, and the yield is about 62%.
