Paraffin wax (CAS NO.8002-74-2) is widely used in food packaging materials, moisture-proof, antistick and anti-oil. Applicable to food gum, bubble gum and drug components are gold as well as the heat carrier oil, mold release, compression, lighting and other direct contact with the Food and Drug oil or wax. It is often useful to modify the crystal properties of the paraffin wax, typically by adding branching to the existing carbon backbone chain. It is widely used on fruits, vegetables, and candy to make them shiny and pretty as well as to retard moisture loss and spoilage. It is useful in fields of candle-making, coatings for waxed paper or cloth, food additive, investment casting, anti-caking agent, moisture repellent, dustbinding coatings for fertilizers and so on.
