Specification:

With the CAS registry number 8006-64-2,?Turpentine is also named as Gum spirits of turpentine.?The product's categories are?Inorganic & Organic Chemicals; Cosmetic Ingredients & Chemicals. It is?colorless liquid with a characteristic odor,?which is insoluble in water and miscible with absolute alcohol, chloroform, ether, benzene, petroleum ether and other solvents. In addition, this chemical is?slightly toxic and flammable by fire, heat and oxidants. When heating it will produce?irritative fume. So the storage environment should be ventilate, low-temperature and dry. Keep Turpentine separate from?oxidizer and?acid.

Preparation of Turpentine:?It?is produced from various species of pines and balsamiferous woods, and several different methods are applied to obtain the oils leading to different types of turpentine, such as dry-distilled wood turpentine from dry distillation of chopped woods and roots of pine trees.

Uses of Turpentine:?It is mainly used as a solvent and as a source of materials for organic synthesis in?industry.?It is also used as a source of raw materials in the synthesis of fragrant chemical compounds.?What's more, this chemical is also added to many cleaning and sanitary products due to its antiseptic properties and its "clean scent".?As a solvent, turpentine is used for thinning oil-based paints, for producing varnishes, and as a raw material for the chemical industry.

When you are using this chemical, please be cautious about it as the following:
It is not only harmful by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed, but also irritating to eyes and skin.?And it is also toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.?Besides, this chemical may cause lung damage if swallowed.?If you want to contact this product, you must wear suitable protective clothing and gloves.?If swallowed, do not induce vomitting; seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. Avoid release to the environment.
