The production method is as below: Firstly, dissolve the 1-amino-2-naphthol-4-sulfonic acid with caustic soda and then make the suspension with acid; Secondly, diazotize the sodium nitrite and add little copper-bath; Thirdly, diazo oxide will separate out from solution with the form of free acid or sodium salt; Lastly, go through the process of filtering, acid with vitriol to get the products.
As to its usage, it is widely applied in many ways. It could be used as the intermediate of acidic dye and mordant dyes; It could be used in synthysis of mordant dyes, azo dyes and so on.
