Specification: |
Norbormide ,its cas register number is 991-42-4. It also can be called Shoxin ; 3a,4,7,7a-Tetrahydro-5-(hydroxyphenyl-2-pyridinylmethyl)-8-(phenyl-2-pyridinylmethylene)-4,7-methano-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione ;and Raticate . Its mechanisms of action is acting as a vasoconstrictor and calcium channel blocker due to a species specific action of opening the permeability transition pores in rat mitochondria, but it is selectively toxic to rats and has relatively low toxicity to other species. When heated to decomposition, Norbormide (CAS NO.991-42-4) emits toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides.
