[Fire Fighting]

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool. May form explosive peroxides. Combustible Liquid. Extinguishing media: Use water spray to cool fire-exposed containers. In case of fire use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or appropriate foam.

[Fire Potential]

This chemical is combustible.
[Ingestion]

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately. Do NOT induce vomiting. If conscious and alert, rinse mouth and drink 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
[Inhalation]

Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
[Skin]

Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse.
[Eyes]

Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid immediately.
[Storage]

Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not store in direct sunlight. Keep container closed when not in use. Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Regularly check inhibitor levels to maintain peroxide levels below 1%. Do not break the seal on the container until it is needed. Label the container with the date it was first opened. Long-term storage is not recommended.
[Handling]

Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Use only in a well ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Empty containers retain product residue, (liquid and/or vapor), and can be dangerous. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid contact with heat, sparks and flame. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. If peroxide formation is suspected, do not open or move container. Avoid contact with air and sunlight. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose empty containers to heat, sparks or open flames. Unused chemicals should not be returned to the container. Do not distill since this removes peroxide-inhibitors.
[Inhalation]

May cause respiratory tract irritation.
[Skin]

May cause skin irritation.
[Eyes]

May cause eye irritation.
[Ingestion]

May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

[Personal Protection]

Eyes: Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166. Skin: Wear appropriate gloves to prevent skin exposure. Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.
[Respirators]

Follow the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29CFR 1910.134 or European Standard EN 149. Always use a NIOSH or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator when necessary.
[Exposure Effects]

Central nervous system depressant effects, including drowsiness, headache, progressive obtundation and coma have preceded death. Drowsiness is usually delayed approximately 24 hours after ingestion. Meningismus, cerebral edema and hemorrhage, and neuropathies have been reported.

[Small spills/leaks]

Absorb spill with inert material, (e.g., dry sand or earth), then place into a chemical waste container. Clean up spills immediately, using the appropriate protective equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Isolate area and deny entry. Provide ventilation. Place under an inert atmosphere.
[Disposal Code]

[Incompatibilities]

Oxidizing agents.
[Stability]

Stable under normal temperatures and pressures. On long term storage, substances with similar functional groups form explosive peroxides. Explosive peroxides may form on concentration. Tends to form explosive peroxides; especially when anhydrous. Peroxide formation may occur in containers that have been opened and remain in storage.
[Decomposition]

Carbon monoxide, irritating and toxic fumes and gases, carbon dioxide.
