Preparation of 1,3-Bis(chloromethyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane: This chemical can be prepared by chloro-chloromethyl-dimethyl-silane. The reaction will need reagent H2SO4, and the menstruum cyclohexane. The reaction time is 0.5 hours with temperature of 80°C, and the yield is about 75%. 

Uses of 1,3-Bis(chloromethyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane: It can react with thiocyanic acid sodium salt to produce 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-1,3-bis-thiocyanatomethyl-disiloxane. This reaction will need reagent p-toluenesulfonic acid, and the menstruum methanol. The reaction time is 16 hours with temperature heating, and the yield is about 50%.
