?2,6-Diaminotoluene?, its cas register number is 823-40-5. It also can be called?1,3-Diamino-2-methylbenzene ; 2,6-Diamino-1-methylbenzene ; 2,6-Toluenediamine ; 2-Methyl-m-phenylenediamine .It is a?off-white crystals and?water soluble. Its?neutralizes acids in exothermic reactions to form salts plus water. May be incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides. Flammable gaseous hydrogen may be generated in combination with strong reducing agents, such as hydrides.

Packinggroup: | III |
Storage Temperature: | Storage location should be close to laboratory where it is to be used, so that only small amounts need to be transported. Carcinogens should be kept in only one section of storage area, explosion-proof refrigerator or freezer as required. The area should be appropriately labeled. An inventory should be kept showing the quantity of carcinogen and date it was acquired. Facilities for dispensing should be contiguous to storage area. |
Color: | Colorless liquid COLORLESS TO LIGHT-YELLOW LIQUID |
Usage: | Chemical intermediate for toluene diisocyanate, polyether polyols, rubber chemicals, curing agent for epoxy resins, monomer, chain extender & crosslinker for polymers (mixt with 2,4-isomer), chemical intermediate for dyes. |
