8-Hydroxy-2-methylquinoline (826-81-3) is used as an important pharmaceutical intermediate. It is also a useful analytical reagent. 8-Hydroxy-2-methylquinoline (826-81-3) is produced by the reaction of 2-Aminophenol and Crotonaldehyde .This compound is also called 2-Methyl-8-quinolino ; 8-Hydroxyqinaldine ; 8-Quinolinol,2-methyl- ; Hydroxyquinaldine ; 8-Hydroxy-2-methylquinoline ; 8-Hydroxyquinaldine ; 2-Methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline ; 2-Methyl-8-quinolinol . It is insoluble in water but can be soluble in Benzene , Aldehyde , Ether and other related organic solvents. It is stable under normal temperatures and pressures but it also should be stored in a tightly closed container when not in use and stored in a cool, dry,well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
